NIssan Ad- Tougher than a rock

In this Nissan ad, it gives to the viewer a promise of toughness and individuality.  Giving the impression of a Nissan truck that has no bounds produces a promise of unbound navigation. It illustrates this by showing a truck that has driven straight through a solid rock mountain. This gives the perception that nissan trucks are strong, strong enough to plow through even the toughest of elements, which appeals to the American need for need for things that are bigger, faster and stronger. It shows this truck can top the elements and with this automobile you can choose your own path. Which leads to my next observation that the ad also makes a promise that when you buy a Nissan truck, you blaze your own trail. By showing a truck driving straight through a solid rock mountain, the ad gives the impression that when behind the wheel nothing can stand in your way. That you make your own decisions and decide where your going and don't concede to the rules of the road. This appeals to the publics need for independence and self control or realization.   The consumer who typically purchases a heavy duty truck needs it to be dependable and to overcome obstacles which could make the difference in there professional lives.  This ad is used to give that consumer/professional a sense of reliabilaty.  The final thing I discovered with this ad was that it ever so slightly takes a stab at it's competitor, Ford. Ford trucks have had an ad campaighn whose tagline is, "like a rock". With this ad showing a nissan truck driving straight through rock, it is meant to give to viewer the message that Nissan trucks are tougher than Fords because they are not like a rock but rather tougher than a rock. Tough enough to drive right through it.

Food Blog 1

I have recently discovered a passion for cooking.  One of my favorite dishes to make is Beef Wellington. I had first heard of this dish from my favorite chef, Gordon Ramsay. i saw him make this dish on his TV show, "Hell's Kitchen", and simply couldn't resist trying it for myself.  It is a relatively simple as far as ingredients go, but quite a process to put together.  It starts with a1lb beef fillet.  I prefer to use a high quality meat like fillet mignon.  The fillet is very quickly seared to keep in the juices when it cook.  Then it is coated in an English mustard, which is much stronger than a regular dijjon or yellow mustard, but compliments the dish very well.  I also take a few large slices of prosciutto, slightly overlapping them and spread pureed portablello mushrooms over them.  Then the mustard coated fillet is placed in the middle and wrapped in the portabello coated prosciutto.  Then that prosciutto wrapped fillet is then wrapped in puff pastry.  The layering of these ingredients ensures that all the flavors are blended while cooking.  The puff pastry also seals in all the flavor and juices of the fillet inside as well.  After it comes out of the oven, you slice into this heavenly loaf, and u just see the flavor infused juices of that fillet spill from inside, and the smell is even better.  The strong bite of the mustard matched with the sweetness of the puff pastry takes the beef to another level.
This dish is important to me because it was the first thing i had cooked which turned my enjoyment of cooking into a passion. The feedback was amazing and even made my mom a little jealous, even though i will never rival her as the best cook in the house.  I love going to butcher shops and farmers markets searching for the best and freshest cuts of meats and ingredients.  With such a small amount of ingredients, quality is very important.  I may not make it like Gordon Ramsay, but have gotten nothing but compliments from it
